About
Both Catawba Bend Preserve and its feature area, Firefly Hollow Bike Park, offer an ideal setup for a beginner riding alongside more advanced friends. Located along the Catawba River in Rock Hill, SC, the park is designed specifically to allow riders of all skill levels to ride together, progress safely, and split up or regroup easily.
The mountain biking trail head features a central hub that leads to 10-miles of mountain biking trail loops of varying difficulty and a bike park skills area that offers a condensed area of bigger features.
Firefly Hollow serves as the park’s progression epicenter, built around a central hub layout. Its signature feature is The Flight Deck—a massive elevated wooden starting ramp built atop a shipping container that feeds into jumps, drops, and rollers.
The jump lines and mountain bike trails are stem from the same core area, where advanced riders can "session" the bigger features while beginners work on skills nearby, allowing everyone to hang out and regroup between laps without anyone getting lost or left behind.
Clear Progression: The transitions from green to blue features are well-marked, letting you test your limits at your own pace whenever you feel ready to step up.
